Risk Management

Interim Physicians has a Quality Assurance Committee made up of members with relevant areas of expertise, i.e., medicine, law, risk management, credentialing, clinical operations and business. The purpose of this committee is to ensure that our standards and processes meet or exceed industry standards of recruiting, credentialing and staffing. This ensures that we offer the highest quality physician staffing in the industry.

Interim Physicians Quality Assurance Committee's goal is to review and assess the effectiveness of current guidelines and procedures. It is also in place to help design and develop improved methods for achieving best practices for Interim Physicians. The committee meets on at least a quarterly basis and reviews policies, procedures and specific issues that arise.

The Quality Assurance Committee includes:

• Quality Assurance Manager
• Chief of Operations, Interim Physicians
• Legal Counsel (as required)
• National Medical Director - Ken Teufel, M.D. - Dr. Teufel, a graduate of the University of Texas, has been the Interim Physicians Medical Director since 1992. He is available to review applications and credentials for physicians before they can be considered an Interim Physician candidate.

Malpractice Coverage

Interim Physicians has A+ rated malpractice insurance with Evanston Insurance Co. with $1,000,000/$3,000,000 limits. This means that there is coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 per doctor per year. The policy covers Interim Physicians up to $25,000,000 per year.
