The growing importance of locum tenens providers to America’s healthcare system is evident in the numbers. According to Staffing Industry Analysts, the locum tenens industry grew by 12% in 2024 and is projected to increase by another 5% in 2025. This expansion reflects the need for flexible healthcare solutions, and locum tenens professionals are stepping in to fill the gaps and ensure healthcare continuity, particularly in underserved, rural areas.
