Interim Physicians President Shawn Mullen Elected to the NALTO Board of Directors

Interim Physicians is proud to announce that Shawn Mullen, President and Chief Revenue Officer, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations (NALTO). During the election held in February, Shawn secured one of the two open seats amidst a competitive field of candidates. Shawn’s three-year term officially begins in March.

Shawn brings a wealth of experience to  NALTO. Shawn initially joined Interim as Senior Vice President of Sales in 2020 before being promoted to President and Chief Revenue Officer in 2022. He has over a decade of experience in the locum tenens industry, augmented by a distinguished 20-year career as a litigation attorney in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. His unique blend of experience positions him well for his new role on NALTO’s Board, especially serving on NALTO’s Mediation Committee.

Shawn shared his enthusiasm about the opportunity, saying, “During my time in the locums industry, I’ve seen the great work that NALTO has done representing all member agency firms. I am very much looking forward to serving the Board and our member agencies in whatever capacity I can.”

NALTO, established in 2001, is the only professional association for locum tenens agencies. It sets the industry standard, promoting honesty, objectivity, and integrity among its members. Through its strict code of ethics, NALTO ensures locum tenens staffing agencies, facility clients, and providers maintain transparency and accuracy in records, honor contracts, and have the proper insurance and resources they need.

In his new position, Shawn will attend regular board meetings, serve as chair or vice chair of various committees, participate in special projects, and represent NALTO at national events. He also looks forward to being a panelist and speaker at upcoming NALTO events.

He highlighted how the collaborative nature of NALTO is unique to healthcare and the entire staffing industry.

“NALTO is a unique organization of competing agencies; however, each competing member organization cares deeply about the industry,” he says. “Agencies work together to share best practices and ensure that they all abide by a code of ethics that keeps our working relationships strong so we can focus on delivering quality healthcare to patients wherever it’s needed.”

We at Interim want to congratulate Shawn on his election to the NALTO Board of Directors. We look forward to his contributions to the industry in this new role.
